After a battered 2-year-old boy was admitted to the hospital, a Pennsylvania man was charged with sexual assault.

A Monroe County man was arrested on abuse and sex assault charges after a severely injured 2-year-old boy was taken to a Lehigh Valley hospital.

Alexander Talley, 25, of Tobyhanna, was charged with involuntary deviant sexual intercourse, aggravated assault, sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor, indecent assault, minor corruption, child endangerment, simple assault, and reckless endangerment, among other charges.

In lieu of $250,000 bail, Talley was taken to the Monroe County Correctional Facility.

Due to the fact that district court offices were closed for Veterans Day on Thursday, a copy of court paperwork in the case was not available.

Pocono Mountain Regional Police said they were called to Lehigh Valley Hospital- Cedar Crest in Salisbury Township on Wednesday morning for a 2-year-old boy who had multiple fractures, internal injuries, bruises, and other injuries when he arrived.

According to police, the child is still in custody of Monroe County Children and Youth.
