After a weekend shooting, a homicide victim has been identified, and police are searching for the perpetrator.

The suspect in a shooting outside a Lebanon business over the weekend that left one person dead is being sought by police.

According to Lebanon City police, 19-year-old Jason Mahecha is accused of shooting Elliott Thomas, 39, near 7th and Willow streets.

According to police, Thomas, a Minersville resident, died as a result of a single gunshot wound.

He was discovered on the sidewalk with the injury early Saturday morning, around 1:14 a.m., police said.

Thomas and Mahecha were both customers at a business on the corner that night, according to the police investigation.

A group of people went outside, where they got into a fight.

Mahecha allegedly brandished a handgun at some point during the brawl, according to police.

This is when the gun was fired, according to investigators, and Thomas was hit.

Mahecha, a York resident, drove away from the scene in a car that had been parked nearby.

Mahecha is charged with homicide and illegally carrying a firearm.
