BUENOS AIRES, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) — A total of 13,305 COVID-19 cases were reported in Argentina in the last 24 hours, taking the national count to 917,035, the Health Ministry said Tuesday.
Meanwhile, 386 more deaths were registered, bringing the nationwide tally to 24,572, the ministry said.
Of the new cases, 4,666 were confirmed in the province of Buenos Aires.
Currently, 4,294 patients are being hospitalized for the disease in intensive care units, while 742,235 people have recovered, according to the ministry.
Buenos Aires Province, the largest in the South American country, has so far registered 475,319 infections, remaining the worst hit among all provinces.
Health authorities had noticed a “significant” drop in the number of COVID-19 infections in the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (AMBA), said Daniel Gollan, health minister of the Buenos Aires Province, on Tuesday.
Admitting that the situation is “very promising,” he warned that the war against the disease had not been won. Enditem
