Arizona’s COVID-19 deaths top 2,000


LOS ANGELES, July 9 (Xinhua) — The death toll from the novel coronavirus in the U.S. state of Arizona has topped 2,000 as new highs for hospitalizations were reported on Thursday.

Arizona Department of Health Services reported 75 more deaths on Thursday, bringing the state’s total deaths to 2,038.

With additional 4,057 COVID-19 cases reported, the number of total confirmed cases has increased to 112,671, the health department said.

The state also had a record 3,437 patients hospitalized as of Thursday morning, according to the department. Enditem
