Gyms were forced to close on March 20 due to the coronavirus crisis, leaving Brits with no choice but to do home workouts.

But last month, they were finally given the green to light to reopen to customers from today, July 25.

Working out won’t be the same as before though and gymgoers can expect a wide range of new coronavirus measures.

These include sneeze screens around gym equipment, shorter workouts as well as sanitiser stations so you can wipe down your machine.

Each fitness centre will have slightly different measures in place, so do check how your local gym has changed.

The Sun has scanned the market for the lowest-priced gym deals currently available to help you stay fit in an affordable way. Below’s what we found.

Many gym chains also offer free one-day trials to encourage customers to sign up, so it’s worth double-checking this in advance.

Groupon

The discount website offers loads of deals at gyms across the UK.

When The Sun checked, we found a two-week pass at an independent gym for just £10 or a month-long pass for £13.95.

Hussle, formerly PayAsUGym

Hussle lets customers buy day passes to thousands of gyms across the UK or pay by class.

It could come in handy if you’re keen on trying different gyms or you don’t want to lock into a long-term contract.

The prices depend on the gym, but typically start from £3.60 per pass.

If you buy your gym visits in bulk as either a five visit bundle or a 10 visit bundle, it gets cheaper.

It offers both contract free and fixed term memberships, and you can save up to 10 per cent on six, nine and 12 month memberships when you pay in full.

Students can also get up to 30 per cent off fixed-term six, nine and 12 month memberships.

The prices vary depending on the gym, but we found one location where a monthly pass costs just £12.99, excluding the one-off £10 joining fee.

The Gym Group

Memberships at The Gym Group costs from £10.99 a month and there’s no contract.

Just keep in mind that some may charge a one-off joining fee, while others give you access to more than one gym at no extra cost.

Gyms across the UK have been shut since March 20 after all “non-essential” stores and services were told to close.

Last month, The Sun took a look inside The Gym Group with work out limits and sneeze screens.
