LONDON, July 28 (Xinhua) — British stocks rose on Tuesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 0.40 percent, or 24.38 points, to close at 6,129.26 points.
Pearson, a British multinational publishing and education company, soared 6.05 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Berkeley Group Holdings and Barratt Developments increased by 4.99 percent and 4.68 percent, respectively.
GVC Holdings, a multinational sports betting and gaming group, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 2.27 percent. CRH, an international group of diversified building materials businesses, dropped 1.90 percent. Spirax-Sarco Engineering, a multi-national industrial engineering group, fell 1.82 percent. Enditem
