‘Child snatcher’ hunted after man grabs girl, 16, in street in South London


POLICE are hunting a man who tried to grab a 16-year-old girl on the street in South London.

The teen girl was in Bexleyheath on a Friday night when the man approached her from behind and grabbed hold of her.

She then screamed with the suspect running off into the night.

Met Police have today released an image of the man they are wanting to trace after the horrifying attempted kidnap unfolded near Upton Road in the capital about 10.30pm on Friday, June 25.

Detective Constable Tristan Hunter, investigating, said: “Though the victim was not physically injured, she was left incredibly shaken by this frightening incident.

“I urge anyone who may recognise this man to contact us immediately.”

The suspect is a described as a white male, wearing black bottoms, a beige jumper, with a face mask pulled down to his chin.

In the image released by police, the man appeared to be holding an item in his hands.
