Cruel owners throw seriously ill dog in the bin and leave her for dead

An unwanted dog that was abandoned and thrown in a bin by her cruel owners is now on the road to recovery thanks to the incredible effort of a kind rescuer.

A man named Palhinha noticed the small dog left for dead among piles of rubbish in a bin on a street in São Paulo, Brazil.

She was found by the right person and a video shows the heartbreaking moment he came to her rescue, as the desperate-looking dog stares back at him.

After saving her life, Palhinha took the dog he named Florzinha – which translates to little flower – to the vet, where they discovered a large tumour and ulcers in her stomach, as reported by Bored Panda.

She was given a full check-up and groomed, and will be treated with medication before vets make a decision as to whether to remove the tumour.

Florzinha will continue her treatment until she’s healthy enough to go to a new, loving home.

As he provided updates on social media, Palhinha thanked the vets where poor Florzinha is being treated, and everyone who had helped by donating to fund her medication and food.

He said she’s being well cared for, and is being treated to hot baths and exciting car rides.

Palhinha wrote: “The people who are trying to make this world worse are not taking a day off. How can I?

“It’s about this case of a little dog thrown in a dumpster, and about so many other cases that occur every day.

“I ask all animal protectors not to be discouraged, to celebrate each victory, each adoption, each recovery. Love is stronger than hate and I have faith that soon we will have more effective laws.

“We will not give up. The veterinarians at the Municipal Kennel will provide her with all the necessary care and I am sure she will soon be in a home that really loves her.”

He also urged people not to waste their time on anger directed at the people who threw Florzinha in the bin, who “don’t deserve any attention”, but to instead direct positive energy towards her recovery.
