A HEARTBROKEN dad has paid tribute to his “wee princess” daughter after the two-year-old’s mysterious death.
Ryan Kelly, 25, discovered little Ella-Leigh was dead after racing to her house in Falkirk on Thursday when a relative told him police were outside.
The shattered dad, who had not seen his daughter for most of her life after a bitter split from her mum Becca Marszol, 21, has now paid tribute to the tragic toddler.
Ryan, from West Lothian, said: “I burst into tears, I just couldn’t believe it.
“She was such a happy baby – my wee princess.
Cops have launched an investigation into the mysterious death with forensic officers combing the house for clues.
Ryan said the first he knew anything was wrong was when he got a call from worried family on Thursday afternoon.
He said: “My sister had driven past the area and saw the police but didn’t know if it was Becca’s home.
“So I went up, saw all the police and immediately felt sick. I’d a gut feeling something terrible had happened.
“I told the police who I was and they said I had to go home and send two officers out who apologised and said she was dead.”
Ryan and Becca had Ella-Leigh in April 2018 but split two months later.
The last Ryan saw of his daughter was the September of that year and he claims to have been fighting since then through lawyers for access.
He said: “Becca knew I’d met a new partner and I’ve not seen her since.
“There have been arrangements made for contact but they haven’t happened..”
He added police have not told him anything about the circumstances of the death.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “Enquiries are ongoing and the death is currently being treated as unexplained pending a post mortem.”
