EASTENDERS fans were devastated when Ben Mitchell and Callum Highway decided to go their separate ways but the Mitchell bad boy won’t be wasting any time before moving on with his love life. How will Callum react when he realises his ex-boyfriend is already putting their relationship behind him?
EastEnders’ fans have been routing for a happy ending for Ben Mitchell (played by Max Bowden) and Callum Highway (Tony Clay) ever since sparks flew between the pair. However, the Christmas period didn’t end well for the couple with Ben splitting from his boyfriend to help protect him from Phil Mitchell’s (Steve McFadden) revenge plan over Sharon Mitchell’s (Letitia Dean) paternity secret.
Last week, Callum handed Ben his gift before announcing he would be spending Christmas Day away from Walford clearing his head.
But in upcoming BBC scenes Callum may have to face up to the fact Ben is happy without him in his life as the Mitchell bad boy goes on a date.
Ben, Louise Mitchell (Tilly Keeper) and baby Peggy head off to a beauty pageant to support Lexi and Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold).
The Mitchell bad boy is over the moon when his daughter performs a dance especially for him.
However when the Mitchells return home, Ben has a surprise in store for his family.
Ben tells his family he’s arranged a date and Phil is shocked when he realises Ben and Callum have broken up.
Is this the end for Ben and Callum or will they find their way back to each other now the affair drama is over?
EastEnders star Max has some good news for fans as he hinted the couple’s story is far from over.
When asked if the pair will find their back together, he remarked: “I hope so.”
“As I said, the most fundamental thing in Ben’s life is to get to that level playing field with Phil.
“Ben can’t go straight, it’s in his nature. As much as he may try, it’s embedded.
“It’s about acceptance of who he is. I’d like to see them get back together, we’ll have to wait and see.”
Meanwhile, the Mitchell household is still reeling from the fallout of Sharon’s affair revelation.
Louise hits breaking point as she tries to do her best for baby Peggy and hits out at Ben for continuing to criticise their step-mum.
But instead of listening to his sister, Ben has some harsh words for Louise.
Will the Mitchells pull together to help Louise as she struggles with being a mum for the first time?
Elsewhere, Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) could hold the key to discovering what really happened to Keanu Taylor.
Following his discussion with Sharon over his fears Keanu has met a sinister fate, Jack began asking round the Square to find out what happened to him.
Jack was attacked by Phil when he wrongly believed he was the father of Sharon’s baby so he knows more than anyone what Phil is capable of.
Will he realise Phil, Ben and Louise conspired together to kidnap and kill Keanu?
EastEnders continues Monday on BBC One at 8pm.
