EASTENDERS fans could be looking at a happy Mitchell story for once this Christmas after a huge clue was dropped regarding Billy Mitchell and ex-wife Honey’s relationship, suggesting that the pair could reunite under the mistletoe this year after the actor spilled the beans on Strictly Come Dancing’s spin-off show It Takes Two.
Perry Fenwick who plays Billy Mitchell in EastEnders was a guest on It Takes Two talking to host Zoe Ball about his on-screen ex-wife Honey Mitchell, played by Strictly finalist Emma Barton who is within touching distance of lifting the Glitterball trophy for 2019. Not only did they chat about Emma’s time on Strictly, but Perry also dropped a huge clue about Billy and Honey’s relationship.
Zoe wanted to know what Perry thought of Emma’s journey with pro-dancer Anton Du Beke, she said: “We have to talk about your girl.
“She is the Honey to your Billy, such a great friend of yours so how is your telly ex wife getting on?”
Perry was quick to chip in: “She has absolutely blown me away, she’s a talented actress. And she’s a great person to work with, when she started off doing Strictly we were still doing a lot of EastEnders together.
“I could work with her five day a week, 12 hour days and then I’d go home and watch TV on Saturday night and there she is up there dancing,” he said.
In the world of EastEnders Billy and Honey haven’t had an easy journey in the last couple of years.
Popping onto the scene in 2005, Billy and Honey were quick to spark relationship rumours and were eventually married.
The two have gone through a number of sensitive storylines such as discovering they were having a child with Down Syndrome, they dealt with eating disorders and unfortunately divorced.
So it’s fair to say that Perry and Emma will have had to have worked very closely together to do these storylines justice.
Zoe told the audience how Emma is a true Strictly superfan, having always wanted to be a part of the show.
Perry said: “She’s living the dream, she said the same thing with EastEnders.”
However, Zoe wanted to know the answer to something a little more juicy, she wanted to know the future of Honey and Billy’s relationship.
Zoe probed: “Most important question now for you is…
“Are Billy and Honey getting back together at christmas?”
The It Takes Two pantomime audience sounded their best ooo-ing and ah-ing, waiting for Perry to spill the beans.
Perry was extremely hesitant: “Oh, I’ll have to, I’ll have to think about it yeah…”
“My lips are sealed.” he admitted, disappointing EastEnders fans across the nation as Zoe played those famous cliffhanger beats at the end of every programme.
This doesn’t mean that nothing is going to happen though, romance could definitely be on the cards for the scorned lovers.
Fans of EastEnders will have to wait until Christmas Day to find out if Billy and Honey do get it together.
However, Strictly Come Dancing fans will only have to wait until Saturday evening to see if Emma and Anton Du Beke will life that Glitterball Trophy.
