ELON MUSK was trolled by his own mother on Twitter as she shared a picture of him at 24 fixing a car from 1995 nine years before he co-founded Tesla.
Elon Musk posed with the broken car as he fixed the window which the Tesla CEO said he repaired with parts from a junkyard. His mother, Maye Musk, wrote with the picture: “And people said you knew nothing about cars.” Mr Musk went on to mock himself for fixing the car window and joked “the circle is complete” after his latest invention the Cybertruck had its windows smashed during a presentation.
Mr Musk wrote: “Couldn’t afford to pay for repairs, so I fixed almost everything on that car from parts in the junkyard.
“Ironically, that’s me replacing broken side window glass. The circle is complete lol.”
Twitter users were quick to join in as one commented” “Irony plays the long game.”
Another wrote: “What a cutie! And breaking car windows I see.”
It comes as Mr Musk was left red-faced during a presentation of Tesla’s new Cybertruck which boasted armour glass windows as he asked assistant to hit the car with a sledgehammer and metal ball.
Elon Musk yelled out “oh my f***ing god” after the metal ball hit the window and it smashed.
The Tesla CEO asked the assistant to throw the ball at another “bulletproof” window which also smashed.
The South African technology entrepreneur has since explained why the Cybertruck windows smashed during the presentation.
Mr Musk wrote on Twitter: “Sledgehammer impact on door cracked base of glass, which is why steel ball didn’t bounce off.
“Should have done steel ball on window, *then* sledgehammer the door. Next time.”
But some Twitter users weren’t so convinced as the ball had smashed two windows but the assistant had only sledgehammered one door.
One user said: “Both windows? He didn’t hit the back door. Also, now thieves will know how to break into my super strong truck now.”
Another added: “Then why did the second window break?!”
A third person said: “Elon just flailing right now, he forgot that the back window also broke.”
After the smash fail, Mr Musk had to continue the presentation in front of two smashed windows.
He joked at the time: “It didn’t go through, that’s the plus side.”
