Under fire Felicity Huffman and husband William H. Macy attended daughter Sophia Grace’s high school graduation Monday.
The Hollywood A-list parents were at The Dolby Theatre in Hollywood as Sophia, 18, listed as Sophia Grace Macy in the event’s program, performed with her classmates at the LA County High School for the Arts ceremony.
Theater grad Sophia, dressed in black, performed a ten-minute piece along with her fellow students, reciting soliloquies from various plays. She then changed into a pretty floral dress to sing with an ensemble.
As she collected her diploma she mouthed, ‘I love you’ to her former teacher who had read out her name.
Her actor father was spotted inside the venue to support his daughter before exiting by a side door while Desperate Housewives star Huffman appeared to wait outside.
Macy refused to comment and Huffman turned away when she saw photographers.
The family left the theater via its loading dock to avoid encounters with members of the public or media outside.
Huffman hit the headlines after entering a guilty plea to mail fraud and honest services mail fraud charges in the college admissions bribery scandal, to which she’s been linked.
Full House alum Lori Loughlin also faces charges and is currently on bail – she has pleased not guilty.
Oscar-nominated Transamerica actress Huffman, 56, who’s also mother to Georgia, 17, with husband Macy, 69, admitted to shelling out $15,000 for a proctor to correct wrong answers on Sophia’s SATs.
The Emmy-Award winner routed the payment through an admissions official named William Singer via his nonprofit Key Worldwide Foundation; prosecutors said the aforementioned foundation was set up as a front to accept payoffs.
In her admission to the court, Huffman acknowledged that the scam required changing the location where Sophia Grace was taking her test, as she used a neuropsychologist to write a note in support of the change.
She told the judge that the location change was done without the fraud in mind, and that neither the neuropsychologist or her daughter were aware of her machinations.
Her husband – Macy – who plays Frank Gallagher on Showtime’s Shameless, was seen recently in Los Angeles with a pair of mylar balloons that read: ‘Congrats Grad!’ and ‘You Did It!’ as Sophia Grace graduated from high school.
Entertainment Tonight reported recently that Sophia Grace is going to take a break and not enroll in college immediately in the wake of her mother’s scandal.
A source told the outlet that the Sofia and Georgia ‘are doing well and have tried to keep their routines’ as they support their mother throughout the troubled time.
‘They are definitely planning a lot of quality family time,’ the source added. ‘The girls are very close to their mom and dad and have been sympathetic throughout. They will do anything they can to be there for their mother.’
The source told ET that ‘while William and Felicity have been through a lot, they are coming to terms with their situation and are dedicated to picking up the pieces and putting their family life back together.’
‘Felicity’s friends and fans are proud of how brave and honest she’s been. She’s been as transparent as possible and knows she made a mistake.’
A separate insider told ET that Huffman, who is free on $250,000 bond after her March arrest, ‘worries non-stop because she knows she has made the worst mistake of her life.’ (Macy was not charged in connection with the scandal.)
Huffman has worked out a deal with prosecutors in which she will not appeal a sentence spanning 20 years or less, while they will likely recommend a sentence spanning four to 10 months.
