THE killer fiancé of author Helen Bailey has been charged with murdering his first wife six years earlier.
Ian Stewart, 59, is accused of killing Diane Stewart on the back patio of the home she shared with him and their two sons in 2010.
The school’s secretary’s death certificate stated she suffered a “sudden unexpected death in epilepsy”.
Stewart was caged for life in 2017 for the murder of his millionaire partner Helen after dumping her body in a cesspit below her home in Royston.
He appeared at St Albans Crown Court today charged with Diane’s murder.
No plea was given and a hearing was set for September 21.
His previous conviction can be reported, the judge said.
Stewart was convicted in 2017 of Helen’s murder after her remains were discovered in a cesspit full of human excrement alongside her beloved pet dog Boris.
He met the Electra Brown author on a Facebook bereavement group, which he joined after Diane died.
Helen left Stewart the bulk of her estate after her death.
