Belgian footballer Jan Vertonghen has left English club Tottenham Hotspur, he announced on Monday.
“So my time at the club comes to an end. A sad day for many reasons,” the 33-year-old said on Instagram.
Vertonghen said he will miss his friends, fans, the London club’s staff, and the stadium.
“We had many unbelievable memories but for now, it’s goodbye,” the defender wrote.
One of the club’s veterans; he joined the Spurs in 2012, made 315 appearances and scored 14 goals.
Before his move to the English side, Vertonghen played for Dutch powerhouse AFC Ajax.
