Former cancer nurse joins Hershey Meds’ executive team.


Hershey Meds appoints a former cancer nurse to the position of executive director.

Jody Reyes has been named chief operating officer and senior vice president of Penn State Health Milton S Hershey Medical Center.

Reyes is currently the University of Virginia Medical Center’s interim chief operating officer.

According to a press release from the medical center, she is a certified cancer nurse and a professor at the University of Virginia School of Nursing.

According to the news release, she has worked in health care for more than 20 years, including at academic medical centers, National Cancer Institute-designated cancer centers, and the US Navy.

“She has a reputation for assembling and motivating teams to achieve extraordinary, long-term clinical outcomes, as well as for influencing a strong patient safety culture.”

“Our priorities are well aligned, and Jody will play a key role in assisting us in providing the best possible health care to the region and beyond,” said Deborah Berini, president of Hershey Medical Center.
