A fox managed to get into Parliament last night – despite huge security at the doors.
The animal managed to get up to the fourth floor of one of the buildings, known as Portcullis House, via an escalator.
Police officers with ‘big gloves’ were seen attempting to shoo the fox, but it managed to give them the slip.
Tory MP Julia Lopez said her team told her: ‘Just leaving Westminster office for the night and see a fox climbing escalator into Portcullis House!
‘We have seen some strange things in Parliament since 2017, but this tops it!’
The MP added that there had been a ‘police pursuit’ adding: ‘Let’s hope he is rescued safely.’
Later the fox was removed in a box as Jeremy Corbyn’s wife Laura Alvarez looked on.
The fox was carried out by four police officers in a box on a plank of wood. It then ran off down the Embankment.
