Georgia reports 14 new COVID-19 cases


TBILISI, July 26 (Xinhua) — Georgia confirmed 14 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, bringing the national count to 1,131.

Among the 14 new cases, the source of two cases is still unknown, the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health (NCDC) said.

As of Sunday, 920 patients have recovered, while 16 others have died, the center said.

Georgian health authorities warned of a notable rise in new confirmed cases this week, with the number climbing from less than 10 per day throughout most of July to 24 cases on July 22. The daily number has stood above 10 over the entire week.

Georgia reported its first case on Feb. 26. Enditem
