Goggia wins super-G despite mishap

GENEVA, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) — Italy’s Olympic champion Sofia Goggia lost a ski pole but still won a women’s World Cup super-G race in St Moritz on Saturday.

Goggia, who lost her left pole in the lower section, clocked 1 minute 29.96 seconds, beating compatriot Federica Brignone by one-hundredth of a second.

Brignone took the silver and Mikaela Shiffrin had the bronze.
