Those who are interested in Google’s new Chromecast will be glad to know that the company will be giving it away for free – provided that the consumer does one thing.
Google’s newly announced Chromecast, officially named “Chromecast with Google TV,” is the company’s latest offering for those who enjoy watching shows on their TV. The device costs $49.99 apiece, and it allows users to stream a variety of shows on any compatible TV they have at home.
Those who are interested in getting the new Chromecast with Google TV will be glad to know that they can get it for free if they subscribe to one of Google’s offerings – YouTube TV, The Verge reported. The service offers a formidable lineup of more than 85 channels featuring a variety of shows, including entertainment, live sports, news and more.
The new YouTube TV service costs $64.99 per month, but new users will be able to try it for free for one month. Google will be sending subscribers a free Chromecast with Google TV after they pay for the first time.
This offer makes getting a Chromecast even more enticing. Those who were hoping to get the new device and the new subscription service will now only need to pay for one. There’s a catch to this, however – the offer doesn’t last forever.
Those who want to get a new Chromecast for free will need to subscribe to YouTube TV as soon as they can. Google said subscribers will have to make a payment for their YouTube TV subscription between Oct. 15 and Dec. 31 this year. Consumers will have to subscribe to the service between now and Nov. 30 to be able to enjoy the free trial and still be eligible to pay before the deadline.
Google also said that the deal is limited to customers in the U.S. Those who are interested in getting the new device but are located in other countries will not be able to avail of the offer. They can, however, still buy the new streaming device and enjoy its features, which include a remote with voice control.
