In Philadelphia, an SUV collides with two other vehicles, killing a woman and a boy; three people are injured.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A sport utility vehicle lost control and collided with two other vehicles on a northeast Philadelphia boulevard, killing a woman and a boy and critically injuring the SUV driver and two other children, according to police.

At around 12:10 a.m., the SUV was speeding south on Roosevelt Boulevard.

When the driver lost control on Saturday, he hit a curb and flew 15 to 20 feet before flipping into two cars stopped at a red light, according to police.

A 34-year-old woman and an 11-year-old boy in the SUV were pronounced dead at the scene, according to police, while the 57-year-old driver was taken to Einstein Medical Center in critical condition.

At St. Joseph’s Hospital, a 15-year-old boy was in critical condition, while a 12-year-old girl was critically ill but stable.

According to the police, the victim was taken to St. Christopher’s Hospital.

Two people in one of the cars were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, while the third car’s driver was unharmed.

The incident is still being investigated, according to police.
