An Instagram influencer posted a video of herself partying with pals after she avoided jail for throwing a chair into a busy road.
Marcella Zoia shot to infamy when a video of her launching the piece of furniture from a 45th floor balcony went viral.
Following the reckless stunt the 20-year-old pleaded guilty to a charge of mischief endangering life.
Prosecutors in Toronto, Canada were seeking a six month jail term for the Instagram star.
She was instead handed a £1,000 fine, 150 hours of community service and two years probation by Justice Mara Greene yesterday.
Following the sentencing a Zoia posted a video of herself joyfully dancing and singing with two friends on her Instagram account.
In another post beamed out to her 60,000 followers she is pictured squatting alongside a pal drinking straight from a bottle.
In her ruling Judge Greene said she had decided not to impose a jail sentence after reviewing case law and taking Zoia’s relatively youthful age into account.
“Sadly, this is not the first instance of a harmful act being posted on some social media site for entertainment purposes and to gain publicity,” the judge said, The Star reported.
“A strong message must be sent to the community that engaging in dangerous acts as a means to garner attention and notoriety is unacceptable, and will lead to serious penalties.”
Last November Zoia admitted throwing the chair from a block of apartments onto Gardiner Expressway in February 2019.
She apologised for her actions but denied posting a video of them to her personal Snapchat account.
Judge Green added: “It was only by sheer luck that someone was not hurt or killed.”
After Zoia was whisked away from the court in an SUV her lawyer Gregory Leslie she said she “ecstatic” the case was over.
He said Zoia had been drinking alcohol the night before the incident and was influenced by peer pressure when she threw the chair at about 10am.
