The Voice Australia is living up to its promise of being ‘the most explosive season so far’.
And the drama is set to skyrocket this week, with a new trailer released on Tuesday catching Kelly Rowland telling one of her contestants to ‘break the rules’.
It all comes to a head soon after, when a furious Boy George, 57, uncovers ‘the biggest cheating’ scandal in The Voice history.’
The trailer opens on a back alley conversation between Kelly, 38, and contestant Denzel M Akuma, who is on the Destiny Child star’s team.
‘It might cause a stir, and if it does, we’ll just have to deal with those consequences later,’ she is shown telling Denzel, who is leaning against a wall outside.
‘Anything worth having, you gotta break a couple little rules [to get it].’
The trailer then cuts to Denzel’s on-stage performance, where Kelly’s fierce rival Boy George uncovers the scheme.
‘Hold on a minute, that’s cheating,’ he said after Denzel finishing singing, turning to glare at Kelly.
She quickly responds, saying: ‘Talking about one-off. Everybody wanna win!’
Kelly then placed her hands over her face in utter disappointment as the other judges looked on.
Denzel is the first ever rapper to appear on The Voice – and he’s now the first to be involved in a cheating scandal.
The 20-year-old joined Kelly’s team after receiving a four-chair turn thanks to his performance of ‘Akuma’ during the blind auditions.
Tuesday’s trailer merely sets up the explosive scandal, which is set to play out in full this week.
