Japan’s Reira wins slopestyle World Cup in Silveplana


BEIJING, March 29 (Xinhua) — The season-ending Snowboard Slopestyle World Cup finished in Silvaplana of Switzerland with Japanese rider Iwabuchi Reira and Norwegian Marcus Kleveland winning the titles.

The event was scheduled in Spindleruv Mlyn of the Czech Republic and was moved to Silvaplana due to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.

The 19-year-old Reira scored 91.00 points in her first run to win the women’s event, while her compatriot Kokomo Murase finished second with 88.75 points. The third place went to Australian rider Coady Tess.

“I was worried at the start every competition this season, but I’m happy to get the first place this time,” Iwabuchi told the FIS official website.

In men’s event, Kleveland collected 96.00 points to get the title. The second and third places were pocketed by Liam Brearley from Canada and Chris Corning from the United States respectively. Enditem
