KATIE Price has revealed she was terrified her disabled son Harvey had coronavirus before he was taken to hospital last week.
The 42-year-old reality star added that she also feared he was having a heart attack before calling an ambulance to their Surrey home in the midst of daughter Princess’s 13th birthday party.
She told OK!: “Harvey had chest pains during the day, so I panicked that he might have coronavirus.
“I was also terrified he might be having a heart attack, because he’s high risk due to his obesity.
“Harvey said he felt like he had needles in his chest, so I called an ambulance and had a friend come and look after the other kids.
“With Harvey and his health conditions, you simply can’t mess about.”
The 18-year-old, who suffers from Prader-Willi syndrome, needed “urgent medical attention” while celebrating Princess becoming a teenager.
Fortunately, all was well and he was discharged and allowed to return home after being kept in for observation.
Harvey has a range of complex needs. As well as having a rare genetic condition, which can cause weight gain and behavioural problems, he is also partially blind and on the autistic spectrum.
Speaking to The Sun Online last week, Katie revealed doctors have told her Harvey is at serious risk of dying from a heart attack if he does not lose weight.
And, in a brutally stark statement, the fearful mum said she hopes Harvey will die before she does, because he simply will not be able to cope without her.
Katie explained: “When Harvey went into hospital, I feared the worst. I always do. The doctors have told me he’s at high risk of having a heart attack.
“He’s 27½st, wears 5XL clothes and he gets out of breath walking up the stairs. So of course I panicked.
“I can’t see him living past 50 unless we sort his weight and his breathing out. “I know it’s horrible to say, but I wish he’d go before me because he wouldn’t cope without me.”
