Lebanon’s COVID-19 cases up by 147 to 3,404

BEIRUT, July 24 (Xinhua) — Lebanon’s number of COVID-19 infections increased on Friday by 147 cases to 3,404 while death toll went up by three to 46, the National News Agency reported.

The Health Ministry has conducted a total of 5,824 tests in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the Interior Ministry issued new instructions to shut down gyms, beaches, tourism institutions, pubs and others for one week starting from July 27 in an attempt to curb the spread of the virus.

Lebanon has been fighting against COVID-19 since Feb. 21.

The country has received several donations from different countries for the fight against COVID-19 including China which offered last month 17,500 masks, 1,500 protective gears, 1,320 goggles and 1,000 shoes covers to Lebanese public hospitals. Enditem
