Manchester United hope the addition of one of their players will help restart negations with Juventus over signing Mario Mandzukic in the January window.
Manchester United are offering Tahith Chong to Juventus in January as they attempt to restart stalled talks over veteran striker Mario Mandzukic, according to reports in Italy.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskajer has made it a priority to sign an attacking player in the January window and the club see Mandzukic as a viable option.
The Red Devils sold Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan during the summer and decided against signing a replacement during that window
However, they are looking to rectify this issue in January.
It is understood Mandzukic is surplus to requirements at Juventus.

Although the club are still looking for at least €5.3million (£4.6m) for the former Croatian international.
However, United are not convinced they should pay such a large transfer fee for a striker, who has yet to play any minutes this season for new boss Maurizio Sarri.
Mandzukic is in the final year of his deal with Juventus, but the striker is still on an annual salary of €4m.

As a result United hope they can agree a deal that would save the Old Lady money on a player who isn’t being used.
It has been reported that United have already agreed personal terms with the former Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich striker.
And according to Italian publication Calciomercato, the Red Devils are prepared to add Tahith Chong into the deal in January.
The 20-year-old winger is also in the final year of his current deal and reportedly isn’t looking to extend his stay at Old Trafford due to interest from Juventus.
With both clubs interested in each other’s players, a swap during January would likely end up saving Juventus money, with both clubs getting the players they are targeting.
United have had to rely on Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Daniel James for a lot of their goals in the league this season.
The trio have scored 17 of United’s 25 goals in the Premier League with 10 of those coming just from Rashford.
It is a lot of pressure on the shoulders of the 22-year-old and it makes sense United are looking at options to cover the position.
And while Mandzukic is lacking match fitness, the striker did manage 10 goals and six assists in 33 appearances for Juventus last season.
It has been five years since Mandzukic last recorded a 20-goal season but the experienced striker could still be a valuable addition to Solskjaer’s squad.
He has won numerous league and cup titles over the course of his career as well as a Champions League and a World Cup runners-up medal.
