MARTIN Lewis sparked fears that he has coronavirus after falling ill live on TV last night.

The 48-year-old star tweeted fans that he wasn’t feeling well before going live for The Martin Lewis Money Show at 8.30pm, alongside Angelica Bell.

Speaking to Angelica at the start of the show, the money-saving expert was in high spirits as he joked: “I’m a little bit under the weather, a bit nauseous, but I’ve got make up on to cover the green!”

Martin tweeted prior to that: “The problem with having your own live TV show, is when you’re feeling under the weather as I am right now (nauseous and weak) show must go on.

“Let’s hope Dr. Showbiz helps. At least I’m doing it from home so I can go to bed straight afterwards.”

One of his followers wrote: “It’s not the virus I hope.”

Martin admitted that he shared the fan’s fear – but felt it wasn’t likely as he didn’t have any of coronavirus’ main symptoms.

Retweeting the message and adding: “I hope not too, but I have no fever, no cough and still have my sense of taste, so thankfully I think it’s unlikely.”

Another concerned follower urged Martin to do the test just to be safe, writing: “Maybe time to get tested before you do any more shows!

“Hope you feel better soon – you need to rest up”.

Another agreed: “My sister had all the symptoms of a kidney infection.

“She was sick which then raised her temperature so was able to book a test. Came back positive. Wouldn’t hurt to do a test just in case.”

One more wrote: “There are many other symptoms, cough, temperature and lack of taste and smell are just the main ones.”

Thankfully, Martin made it through the entire show without incident – and did not display any obvious symptoms.

Today, he has been tweeting as normal, with no mention of feeling ill.
