ULAN BATOR, July 28 (Xinhua) — Mongolia reported one new case of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, taking its total tally to 289, the country’s National Center for Communicable Diseases (NCCD) said Tuesday.
“A total of 686 tests for COVID-19 were conducted across the country yesterday and one of them was positive,” the NCCD’s head Dulmaa Nyamkhuu told a daily press conference.
The latest confirmed case is one of the over 260 Mongolian nationals who returned home from Europe on a chartered flight on Monday, said Nyamkhuu.
Meanwhile, four more patients have recovered from the disease, raising the total to 222, he added.
All 289 cases were imported, mostly from Russia, according to the NCCD.
No local transmissions or deaths have been reported in the country so far. Enditem
