If Kyle Rittenhouse is found not guilty in the shooting deaths of two men, Matt Gaetz believes he would make an excellent intern.

In an interview with Newsmax, the Florida Republican stated that if Rittenhouse is acquitted of the murder of two racial justice protesters in Kenosha, Wisconsin, he would consider hiring him.

“You know what, Kyle Rittenhouse would probably make an excellent congressional intern,” Gaetz said.

“We might contact him to see if he’d be interested in assisting the country in other ways.”

Gaetz has made no secret of his support for Rittenhouse, who has become something of a celebrity among Republican gun rights supporters.

“He is not at fault.”

In the interview, Gaetz stated, “He deserves a not guilty verdict, and I certainly hope he gets it.”

During street protests in Kenosha over the police shooting of an unarmed black man last summer, Rittenhouse claims he acted in self-defense by opening fire on three victims, killing two of them.

Gaetz is being investigated by the FBI on allegations that he had a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old girl and paid for her to accompany him on his travels.

Joel Greenberg, a former political ally and friend of his, has pleaded guilty to federal charges and is cooperating with prosecutors.

Gaetz denies any wrongdoing and claims that he is being singled out because of his conservative views and support for former President Donald Trump.
