‘NBA 2K21’ On Next-Gen Consoles To Have 4x More Music

With “NBA 2K21” set to debut later this year on all major current and next-gen consoles, people will likely be weighing why they should spend more on the version for the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X.

2K Games just showed one of the bigger benefits of the next-gen purchase, namely a bigger soundtrack reports GameSpot.

The soundtrack for “NBA 2K21” on current systems has been announced, and most of it is now available on Spotify. It contains tracks from artists including The Weeknd, Stormzy, The Strokes, Tarik, and more.

The final soundtrack will consist of 52 songs for the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game. However, if you buy the game on PS5 or Xbox Series X, you’ll get 202 songs instead. That is four times more in terms of audio tracks compared to those for the current generation consoles.

In fact, the next-gen soundtrack will be updated after the games and consoles are launched with even more songs, something the PS4 and Xbox One versions will be missing out on.

One of the game’s cover athletes himself is releasing two tracks for the soundtrack, Damian Lillard of the Portland Trailblazers, performing under his “Dame D.O.L.L.A.” persona, will debut new music for the basketball game of 2K Sports.

Lillard appears on the cover of the standard edition of current-generation systems. New Orleans Pelicans rookie sensation Zion Williamson will also appear on the covers.

In a statement sent to the press, Lillard expressed his enthusiasm for being a part of the game’s soundtrack. “To be on the cover alone is a big deal to me, but to be on the cover and also have my music be a part of the game is a huge accomplishment as well,” he said.

“Personally, I’ve been introduced to new artists, songs and genres that I might hear on the radio, but I heard it first on NBA 2K,” he continued.

The PS4 and Xbox One versions of “NBA 2K21” can be upgraded to next-gen but only if you spend $100 on the Mamba Forever edition featuring the late Kobe Bryant on the cover. Otherwise, that is a separate $70 purchase notes GameSpot.

No gameplay trailers for “NBA 2K21” have been revealed as of yet although improved loading times for the next-gen versions have been touted by the developers on top of the stunning graphics featuring Williamson.
