Netanyahu, Macron discuss Israel’s annexation plan


JERUSALEM, July 10 (Xinhua) — Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and French President Emmanuel Macron spoke over the phone on Thursday night about Israel’s plan to annex parts of the West Bank.

Macron had called Netanyahu and expressed his opposition to annexation measures in the West Bank, said the Hebrew-language daily newspaper Haaretz on Friday.

According to a statement released later on Friday by Israel’s Prime Minister’s Office, Netanyahu told the French president that “Israel is prepared to hold peace negotiations on the basis of U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan.” Enditem
