New footage of Peng Shuai at a tournament has the UK ‘extremely concerned’ about the missing tennis star.

The release of footage by China’s state media has done little to alleviate public concern about Peng Shuai’s safety.

The Chinese government has been urged to provide “verifiable evidence” of tennis player Peng Shuai’s whereabouts, which have been a source of concern around the world for weeks.

Shuai, a doubles champion at Wimbledon and the French Open, has not been seen or heard from since November 2nd, when she claimed that former Vice-Premier Zhang Gaoli of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) forced her into sex.

Zhang’s post on the social media site Weibo was quickly taken down by authorities, and the topic was blocked from being discussed online.

Following concerns about Shuai’s whereabouts, Chinese state media has released new videos and photos purporting to show Shuai among the guests at a teen tennis tournament final.

Shuai was previously photographed posing with a framed photo of Winnie the Pooh in the background, a character who is frequently censored in China due to a derogatory nickname given to Xi Jinping.

The Foreign Office of the United Kingdom expressed skepticism about apparent attempts to prove Shuai’s safety, requesting more proof of her well-being.

“The Chinese authorities should urgently provide verifiable evidence of her safety and whereabouts,” it said in a statement.

“Everyone should be free to speak their minds without fear of retaliation.”

Every report of sexual assault, no matter where it occurs on the planet, should be investigated.”

The editor of the Global Times, an arm of China’s ruling Communist Party, posted a video of Shuai at a tennis tournament on Twitter, which is blocked in China.

On Saturday, Hu Xijin shared another video that appeared to show Shuai sitting at a table in a Beijing restaurant.

On Friday, photos purporting to be of the 35-year-old were also released, showing her relaxing at home with a cat.

Two of them were mine.
