Oman’s total COVID-19 cases near 60,000


MUSCAT, July 14 (Xinhua) — Oman’s Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday 1,389 new COVID-19 cases, as the tally of infections is poised to surpass 60,000.

The new cases, including 339 non-Omanis, took the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 59,568, the ministry said.

It also reported 14 new deaths from COVID-19, bringing the death toll in Oman to 273.

With the recovery of 730 new patients, the tally of recovered cases in Oman rose to 37,987.

The Omani supreme committee in charge of dealing with the pandemic said in a statement that it decided to continue the lockdown of two governorates untill further notice.

It also agreed to allow the citizens to travel abroad, on condition that they abide by the existing and future precautionary procedures upon their return. Enditem
