More than 40 stores will be closed on Thanksgiving.

The number of stores open on Thanksgiving seemed to be growing each year in the years leading up to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Some stores were open during the day, while others were only open at night.

Some stayed open all night and the next day.

Last year, however, most stores chose to close on Christmas Day due to the pandemic.

This trend appears to be continuing this year.

Retailers staying closed on Thanksgiving, according to one regional CEO, should become a tradition once more.

In a news release earlier this year, Jim Boscov, chairman and CEO of Boscov’s, said, “I hope that closing on Thanksgiving Day once again becomes an industry tradition, allowing our coworkers to enjoy an uninterrupted Thanksgiving Day with their families.”
