Parents should take their children out of school for the holidays because it is beneficial to them, according to a psychologist.

TAKING A FAMILY HOLIDAY DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR IS UNDERSTANDABLY CHEAPER THAN TAKING A FAMILY HOLIDAY DURING THE SUMMER HOLIDAY.

Parents looking to save money may have found an ally in an American psychologist who claims that taking children abroad outside of school holidays provides a better experience.

“As a clinical psychologist, parent, former teacher, and former school counsellor, I absolutely believe that pulling children out of school for travel can have significant benefits,” clinical psychologist Carla Marie Manly told Travel (plus) Leisure.

“Because travel is more affordable – and thus more accessible – to families while school is in session, parents can take their children to places they otherwise would not be able to afford.”

“Travel quality during less impacted times can make the experience far more relaxing and powerful for both parents and children, and when families are relaxed, the overall travel experience can be far more positive.”

While there may be significant advantages to taking your child on vacation, it’s worth noting that these remarks were made prior to the Covid pandemic, when children’s education was severely disrupted.

Some children have lost basic social skills as a result of school closures during lockdowns, and many are struggling to catch up on lost learning.

Many schools issue fines or warnings to families who break the rules, so parents should be cautious if they decide to take a long trip abroad during the school year.

Some schools will also give parents time off during the school year if their children are performing well academically or have perfect attendance.

“If you want to take your child out of school during the school year, you must get permission from the head teacher,” according to the government website.

If your child is granted leave, it is up to the head teacher to determine how many days he or she can be absent from school.”

Families who do not ask for permission or who are denied permission but still take their children face fines if they do so.

Fines can reach £120, but if paid within 21 days, they are reduced to £60.

However, some parents argue that vacations are much cheaper outside of school holidays, so they choose to pay the fine instead.

Here’s what you need to know about taking your kids on vacation during the school year.

One mother said her six-year-old son learned more on their epic journey than he ever could in a classroom because he was taken out of primary school for two years.

Meanwhile, other mothers have expressed their displeasure, with one slamming a primary school for…
