Police say the driver who was hit by a train in Pennsylvania was attempting to cross tracks.
Investigators in Vermont said Wednesday that a driver who died after being hit by an Amtrak train had crossed the tracks, backed into a driveway to turn around, and was attempting to cross back when he was hit.
The accident happened around 11:30 a.m.
According to police, the sports utility vehicle was crossing the tracks at an intersection without gates on Tuesday in the town of Royalton.
Thomas Fennell, a 23-year-old Vermont Law School student from Pittsburgh, was the only occupant of the vehicle.
Royalton Police are asking anyone with information about the accident to contact them.
