Premier League Rumors: Aubameyang Undecided But Unhappy With Arsenal FC Board

Arsenal FC and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are far from addressing the latter’s future stint and the 30-year-old seems to be getting frustrated. Though his current contract won’t lapse until another 12 months, the Gabon international feels that Arsenal management is not doing enough to settle his tenure. That could be detrimental and point to a possible move out of Emirates Stadium.

As early as now, critics feel that the Gunners need to address the contract situation of Aubameyang. But with his age in consideration, some are suggesting he chooses wisely. One of them is former Gunners player Ian Wright, who feels Aubameyang is in a pretty tight spot. A move out of Emirates Stadium may happen but holds no promises of him continuing his success. Staying on at Arsenal also has its risks, especially with Mikel Arteta focusing on youth.

But if the recent statements of Aubemeyang is to be believed, things are not looking that well as far as seeing him stay at Emirates Stadium. In an interview with Telefoot program, the Gabon national revealed how there have been talks the past months but there has been no progress. He feels that should he end up leaving Arsenal, management could be partly to blame.

“The board know very well why nothing has happened so far. They have the key. It’s up to them to do their job and then we’ll see how it goes,” Aubameyang said.

The Gunners captain is aware that his decision will be critical. He knows that he is at that point of his career where his next move can make or break his football career. Aubameyang, however, made it clear that he has not made a decision yet. So despite interest from Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Real Madrid, there remains a chance he will stay with the Gunners moving forward.

“It’s a turning point in my career and, to be frank with everyone, this will be a very difficult decision to make. But beware, I haven’t made my choice yet. It will be perhaps the most important decision of my career,” Aubameyang said.

Since joining Arsenal, Aubameyang has accounted for 49 goals in 75 Premier League appearances. Overall, he has amassed 61 scores in 97 games. He will be a key player to watch for the Gunners when play resumes on Wednesday against Manchester City. On whether he maintains his focus for Arsenal during the rest of the season remains unknown.
