Eduardo Camavinga is one of the many rising stars that teams are interested in but it appears Stade Rennais F.C. is not interested in any deal. The team hotly linked to the Angolan national is Real Madrid. However, it appears the Rennals are not interested in any pitch even if they were offered $90 million for the 17-year-old midfielder.
Rennes sporting director Florian Maurice made it clear that they are not interested in selling Camavinga to Real Madrid. The 17-year-old teen has appeared as part of the first team in 43 matches and has been impressive as a whole. With that decision, Camavina will continue to focus on his development in Ligue 1 for now.
‘If Real Madrid offers €80 million for him as is being talked about, the answer is no. We want him to stay so that he keeps developing at Rennes,” Maurice said to RMC Sport. “It is worth pointing out that the player has the ambition and maybe the desire to go elsewhere. I would listen to him, but at the moment he has a Rennes contract and we will then see how the transfer window is working,” he added.
Los Blancos was reportedly on the prowl for midfielder alternatives with the team too reliant on Carlos Henrique Casimero. Zinedine Zidane has settled to use Fede Valverde and Toni Kroos to help out but the two players are more comfortable with their actual roles. Camavinga was being considered to help out Casimero but it appears Zidane will have to skim the market for other midfielders that are available.
In a previous post, Rennes coach Julien Stephan believes that Camavinga should hold off transfer plans, believing he still needs to improve on certain parts of his game. Stephan believes that Camavinga should focus first on developing his all-around game before taking a huge step towards the big league.
“I always give him the advice to stay one more season at Rennes because it is his training club,” the 39-year-old said. “After a good season, that quality leap must always be confirmed and it would be easier for him to do it here.
