Prince Andrew accuser Virginia Roberts in hospital with bacterial meningitis two months after coronavirus scare

PRINCE Andrew’s accuser Virginia Roberts is seriously ill in hospital – just two months after she was tested for coronavirus.

The 36-year-old, who claims she was trafficked by billionaire financier Jeffrey Epstein to have sex with the royal, shared a photo from her hospital bed after she was diagnosed with bacterial meningitis

She had recently returned from a trip to the rainforest.

In a post on Twitter, Ms Roberts wrote: “Back in hospital – again.

“This time bacterial meningitis.

“Went to the rainforest for the weekend with the fam and came back with something from the jungle.”

Ms Roberts, who also goes by her married surname Giuffre, lives in Cairns, Australia with her husband Robert and their three children.

Replying to people sending their thoughts on Twitter, she said her immune system may have been compromised “with so much going on”.

She said she’s even recently bought a dog to help with her stress.

Bacterial meningitis is the inflammation of the spinal cord typically caused by an infection.

It’s rare and can be life-threatening.

Symptoms include fever, headache and stiffness in the neck.

An infected person can spread it to others through coughing or sneezing.

In April, Ms Roberts told Twitter followers she had been having trouble with breathing, as well as fever and a cough.

A coronavirus test was negative, she said, revealing that she was instead battling an upper respiratory infection and had been diagnosed with pnuemonia.

Ms Roberts is one of a number of women who have accused the late Jeffrey Epstein of sexual abuse when they were underage.

She has said publicly that she was his “sex slave”.

She also alleged she’d had sex with Prince Andrew at Epstein’s New York apartment, in the Caribbean and at the London home of billionaire Epstein’s ‘madam’, Ghislaine Maxwell.

Ms Roberts says she had sex with Prince Andrew in a toilet when she was 17, after a night where he had been plying her with vodka in a posh London club.

The royal has vehemently denied the accusations against him, branding them “false” and “without foundation”.

He says he’s never met Ms Roberts, and Buckingham Palace officials have said: “This relates to proceedings in the United States, to which the Duke of York is not a party.

“Any suggestion of impropriety with underage minors is categorically untrue.

“It is emphatically denied that the Duke had any form of sexual contact or relationship with Virginia Roberts.

“Any claim to the contrary is false and without foundation.”

US prosecutors have claimed that Prince Andrew has “repeatedly declined” a request to be interviewed and had “unequivocally” stated he would not come in for one.
