THE GRAND FINAL of Strictly Come Dancing is this weekend and three couples will face off for the glitterball trophy. But if Anton du Beke wins Strictly, will he retire?
There are three couples left competing in the Strictly Come Dancing final after comedian Chris Ramsey and his partner Karen Hauer were sent home. Writing on Instagram after Sunday’s semi-final results show Chris said: “Guys, it’s been absolutely epic.
“I can’t thank you all enough for the support you’ve given me @bbcstrictly.
“Massive congrats to @theemmabarton @karim__zeroual and @kelvin_fletcher – going to be an incredible final! And all the thanks in the world to @karenhauer. You’re a legend mate!”
He later added: “What a ride! What a lovely show to work on. What a lush bunch of celebs and pro dancers. What an experience! Thanks everyone x.”
For only the second time in his 17 years of Strictly Come Dancing, Anton du Beke has reached the final.
He danced his way to the final in 2015 with TV and radio presenter Katie Derham – but came fourth.
Now Anton could come third or better with EastEnders actress Emma Barton.
Speaking to Claudia on Sunday, Anton couldn’t hide his joy at making the Strictly final.
He said: “I’ll tell you this, you do something like this for a long time and you love every second of it and think this can’t get any better really…
‘And then someone like Emma comes along and it just goes that… there you go, it is better than you though.
“It’s a brilliant thing and it’s all because of Emma.”
Also in the final are Kelvin Fletcher and Oti Mabuse, and Karim Zeroual and partner Amy Dowden.
Could Anton du Beke retire if he wins Strictly Come Dancing 2019?
The professional dancer has appeared on 17 years of the show, and if he wins he may wish to exit the show in style.
However, this would not be the last of Anton on our screens – the dancer has now landed a new job on This Morning.
Anton, 53, will present a new show called Anton’s Christmas Angels and give deserving viewers the ultimate Christmas surprise.
A source said: “We want to do more and more with him – viewers love him and his appeal stretches far beyond Strictly.”
According to Ladbrokes, it is currently 3/1 that Anton retires after this series of Strictly.
Ladbrokes Alex Apati said: “Strictly wouldn’t be the same without him but the odds suggest we’ll have to get used to life after Anton.”
Who will win Strictly Come Dancing 2019?
According to the bookies, it is Emmerdale actor Kelvin who is odds on to win Strictly.
Kelvin has seen his odds cut to just 2/7, making him overwhelming favourite in the betting.
Having been forced into a Dance Off against Chris Ramsey, Karim Zeroual has been pushed out to 10/1 to win the Glitterball Trophy, with Emma Barton now a 7/2 shot.
Ladbrokes Alex Apati said: “Kelvin has headed the betting for pretty much the entire series and it doesn’t look like anyone will stop him from winning this year’s Strictly.”
