TASHKENT, March 25 (Xinhua) — Uzbekistan has created a special judicial panel for investment and competition disputes under the country’s Supreme Court designed to better protect foreign investors’ rights, the press service of the court said Thursday.
Foreign and local investors with at least 20 million U.S. dollars investments will be able to turn to the special panel to resolve their disputes with state agencies on investment issues, it said.
The panel, comprising nine judges, was set up following President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s decree signed last year to improve the investment environment in Central Asia’s most populous country.
Since he took office in 2016, Mirziyoyev has undertaken a series of reforms, including that in the judicial system. Enditem
