Vietnam records 5 new COVID-19 cases, 1,059 in total


HANOI, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) — Vietnam reported five new cases of COVID-19 infection on Wednesday, bringing its total confirmed cases to 1,059 and 35 deaths from the disease so far, according to its Ministry of Health.

The five new cases have recently entered Vietnam from abroad and were quarantined upon arrival, said the ministry, noting that their ages range from four to 60.

Meanwhile, as many as 22 more COVID-19 patients have been given all-clear, raising the total cured cases in the country to 890 as of Wednesday, the ministry said.

Nearly 37,500 people are being quarantined and monitored in the country, according to the ministry. Enditem
