Less than a month before the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S officially make their debut, Microsoft has decided to reveal the 31 games that will be available for the next-gen consoles on launch day.
The lineup was confirmed via email, per Polygon. However, prospective owners of the two consoles have already been assured of access to thousands of backward compatible titles. The catalog includes games from the original Xbox, Xbox 360, and the current-gen Xbox One.
Although “Halo Infinite” pulled out from being available at launch back in August to prepare the game further for next year, several new games are still ready for their close-up when Nov. 10 arrives.
Set in Viking times, “Assassin’s Creed Valhalla” is the next adventure in Ubisoft’s successful role-playing franchise that places the player in the boots of Eivor, a Viking raider amid the invasion of Britain.
“Assassin’s Creed Valhalla” is one of several titles that supports the Microsoft Smart Delivery program, a feature that will launch alongside the Xbox Series X. Smart Delivery aims to end the dilemma of buying the same console game several times as consoles change and older ones are cast aside.
If a game supports Smart Delivery, only one copy will be needed to make it playable on modern Xbox consoles.
Subscribers of the Game Pass subscription service will also be delighted to know that they will have immediate access to nine Xbox Series X games at launch, namely: “Dead by Daylight,” “Forza Horizon 4,” “Gears 5,” “Gears Tactics,” “Grounded,” “Ori and the Will of the Wisps,” “Sea of Thieves,” “Tetris Effect: Connected,” and “The Touryst.”
