1-on-1 with Drew Brees on Life After Football, the Saints’ Season Outlook in 2021, Favorite Team To Beat, and the Quaker Partnership

On December 1st,

Drew Brees suffered a shoulder injury on December 31, 2005, that some doctors thought would end his career.

But it was because of that injury that he ended up with the New Orleans Saints, and the rest is history.

Brees threw for 80,358 yards and 571 touchdowns in his career, making him one of the most prolific passers in NFL history.

He’s also widely regarded as the most accurate quarterback in the game’s history.

Brees announced his retirement from the NFL after the 2020 season. While he is no longer playing for the Saints on Sundays, his current job with NBC Sports keeps him close to the game.

Brees joined NBC Sports’ Football Night in America as a studio analyst.

He also works for the network, alongside Mike Tirico, calling Notre Dame football games.

Drew Brees joined us to talk about his first year as a broadcaster, his thoughts on the Saints’ offense through five games, his partnership with Quaker Oats, and more.

The Quaker Good Call Challenge presents this interview with Drew Brees.

The Spun: Tell us about Quaker.

What is the Quaker Good Call Challenge, and what does it entail?

Drew Brees: I’m teaming up with Quaker, the NFL’s official oatmeal sponsor, to encourage people to fight hunger and support Feeding America.

In America, 38 million people are hungry, and with the holiday season approaching, Quaker has pledged to donate (dollar)125,000 to Feeding America, which is fantastic.

The Quaker Good Call Challenge, which runs from now until December 31, is the call to action.

Make a bank out of an empty canister – perhaps an empty Quaker canister from the pantry.

Run around the house collecting all loose change, checking all the cushions, and donating whatever you can.

Choose the Feeding America option at your local Coinstar kiosk, which can be found at many local grocery stores and other locations.

All of that money will be used to feed people in the community during the holidays.

We’re also asking people to post pictures on social media with the hashtag #QuakerGoodCall and the hashtag @Quaker.

It has been, Spun.
