Bayern Munich ‘could steal Yannick Carrasco away from the clutches of Arsenal’ if they give up on their attempts to sign Man City’s in-demand forward Leroy Sane.
Arsenal have been heavily linked with the £25million Belgian, who even admitted a deal was on the table from the Gunners last week.
Despite that, it may not be plain sailing for Unai Emery’s men in their pursuit of the player, with Bayern lurking in the shadows ready to usurp them.
According to Bild in Germany, Bayern’s first-choice target is Manchester City’s Leroy Sane, but they have been put off by an ‘insane’ £90million asking price.
If they cannot meet City’s demands, the paper report that Bayern will instead meet Dalian Yifang’s £25m valuation of Carrasco.
The midfielder looks certain to leave China and return to Europe, and speaking to Belgian website Nieuwsblad, Carrasco said: ‘There is now an offer on the table and the negotiations with my agent are progressing well.
‘I am the most important player in the club, but I hope the chairman understands me.’
Carrasco left Atletico Madrid for a bumper deal in China in 2018, but after a season and a half in Asia looks set to return closer to home.
Arsenal initially offered a loan-to-buy offer which was rejected by Dalian Yifang, who are keen to offload the player on a permanent deal.
