Boxing Tonight: Chantelle Cameron vs Mary McGee TV Schedule, UK Fight Time, and Undercard, plus more

Cameron is only two fights away from becoming the undisputed 140lb champion, but a resurgent McGee stands in her way.

“Boxing Tonight” is i’s weekly preview of Saturday night action in the UK and beyond, complete with information on how to watch and what to look out for.

When Dillian Whyte backed out of his fight with Otto Wallin, Eddie Hearn admits he considered canceling the entire show.

The Swedish heavyweight isn’t convinced by his opponent’s shoulder injury, which he claims he’s had since 2015, and has requested “an independent doctor to look at it at no cost to him”– largely because Whyte, as WBC mandatory challenger, is still on track for a shot at Tyson Fury regardless.

Instead, Chantelle Cameron will defend her WBC super-lightweight title against Mary McGee in a more pressing WBC title fight.

It’s the first semi-final of the “road to undisputed” tournament, which will crown the undisputed 140-pound champion.

While the O2 Arena isn’t yet sold out, Cameron is expected to move closer to facing Kali Reis or Jessica Camara.

McGee, meanwhile, has a record of 27-3 and has put together a run of eight wins since back-to-back defeats to Holly Holm and Erica Arabella Farias in 2013. Cameron is still undefeated and defends her title for the second time following a TKO victory over Melissa Hernandez.

“I’ve always wanted to be undisputed since I started boxing, and now I have a fantastic opportunity to do so,” Cameron said.

“These tough fights against other champions are what keeps me motivated and pushing in the gym, and you’re going to see Chantelle Cameron at her best.”

“They’re all great champions, and first and foremost, I have Mary McGee to contend with, after which I’ll be ready to make history against the winner of Kali Reiss and Jessica Camara.”

After pulling out of the Wallin fight, Whyte held a press conference on Thursday, insisting that he has never dodged anyone in his career.

He was referring to his defeat in 2015.
