Edinson Cavani “really excites” former Manchester United signing Louis Saha.
The Uruguayan striker has joined United after the end of his contract at PSG, where he started just seven Ligue Un games last season because of a combination of injury and competition.
Cavani has scored a massive 200 goals for PSG in 301 games but is now 33, which has led to some labelling him a has-been or a short-term signing.
Paul Scholes was particular damning about the signing of Cavani, calling it “very strange”.
“Yes, I was really excited about this signing,” Saha told Goal.
“I wished he joined last year, I have followed him since he played at Napoli, I am a Parisian so I have seen most of his 200 goals. He is considered to be a legend over there.
“At the same time, he is a guarantee. Cavani gives you a certain performance through his running, ability to cause stress to defenders, lead from the front and score goals. That can only be good.”
