CHELSEA’S negotiations with Kai Havertz are reportedly “getting hot” after they qualified for the Champions League.
Frank Lampard’s men saw off Wolves 2-0 at Stamford Bridge thanks to goals from Mason Mount and Olivier Giroud.
United’s win over Leicester meant Chelsea finished fourth in the league and bagged a spot at Europe’s top table next season.
And that assurance is said to have had an impact on talks with Bayer Leverkusen winger Havertz.
Respected German journalist Christian Falk tweeted: “After qualifying for Champions League: it can now go quickly with the deal of @ChelseaFC and
“Leverkusen does not insist on participating of @kaihavertz29 in the Euro League. Now the negotations are getting hot.”
Chelsea fans were given a big Havertz boost earlier today when he liked a photo of new signing Timo Werner.

Werner was at the Bridge to see the game and Havertz liked Werner’s snap showing he had landed in England.
One fan wrote: “Kai Havertz admired Werner’s picture while arriving in London…coming soon?”
Another said: “Looks like somebody knows he is next.”
A third added: “Havertz liked the Werner Insta post pretty quickly, I just want Havertz and UCL football, on my knees.”
It had been claimed Petr Cech would fly to Germany to tempt Havertz to joining Chelsea.
The Blues legend also helped pull the strings of Werner’s deal when he made an “undercover” trip to Leipzig before lockdown.
Leverkusen were originally demanding an eye-watering £90million fee for Havertz but with only two years remaining on his contract they are resigned to losing him for less.
