Chris Hemsworth to undergo dramatic body transformation and play WWE legend Hulk Hogan in Hollywood biopic

HOLLYWOOD star Chris Hemsworth has admitted it’s going to be ‘insanely physical’ to get in shape to play WWE legend Hulk Hogan.

Despite famously bulking up to play Thor in eight Marvel movies, the 36-year old believes he has his work cut out for his new role.

Hemsworth will play the iconic wrestler, now aged 66, in a biopic that will be shown on Netflix.

Speaking to Total Film, Hemsworth said: “This movie is going to be a really fun project.

“As you can imagine, the preparation for the role will be insanely physical.

“I will have to put on more size than I ever have before, even more than I put on for Thor.

“There is the accent as well as the physicality and the attitude.”

Hemsworth has previously revealed how the movie will show an “unseen side of the wrestling world.”

The Aussie is still waiting on the creative process to move forward since it was announced he would be playing the multi-time world champion last year.

In an interview with Screenrant, despite not receiving a script yet, the Aussie remains “fascinated” and “intrigued” by the world of pro wrestling that the movie aims to shed some light on.

He admitted, “Look, I haven’t read a script yet.

“I know it’s being written now and worked on. I know very little about that. It’s sort of in the process now.”

Hogan, 66, is widely regarded as one of the greatest superstars professional wrestling has ever produced.

He was the face of an era that broke its way into the mainstream, paving the way for other huge pro wrestling stars such as The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin and John Cena.

Perhaps The Hulkster’s most famous wrestling moment came when he bodyslammed Andre The Giant and ended his long unbeaten run at WrestleMania 3 in 1987.
